From the Tournament Director Regarding Covid-19
May 9, 2020
Thanks for your patience during these interesting times. Nevada finally implemented Phase 1 today which means you can get a haircut and dine in restaurants (no sitting at bars) with proper social distancing. Whether we will be able to have the tournament July 16-19 remains a question. We will be making a decision shortly after Memorial Day on whether to proceed or not. This should provide ample time to make lodging and travel reservations. I would think CA and NV would be open by mid-July but that assumes there is no regression with respect to new Covid-19 cases.
In order to make this happen, we will need the OK from IVGID, Washoe County School District and North Tahoe Public Utilities from whom I rent the fields. I will make an effort next week to contact the respective representatives to get an idea of the likelihood of holding the event at the respective venues and what measures they would request to have a safe event.
In the meantime, stay safe. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

First and foremost, I hope you and your families are all well and doing what is necessary to be safe.
Clearly, the Covid-19 pandemic has created more questions than answers. From the tournament's perspective, I am planning on having the 30th annual Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament from July 16-19, 2020. With that said, there are many variables which are out of my control. Like you, I'm certain you watch the news daily with the hope the worst is behind us. I truly believe the worst is behind us but am also a realist and know "it ain't over til it's over." Was it over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor? (for our younger participants, that quote was from the movie Animal House).
I am also aware teams need to make plane and lodging arrangements. I have no intention of telling the participants there will be a tournament and canceling at the last minute. I also have no intention of throwing in the towel at this time. I feel we all need something to look forward to provided we can have an event which will be safe for our participants, officials and volunteers. With that said, I encourage you to keep an open dialogue with me, express your concerns as I will be in contact with local officials from whom we rent the fields and will have the final say.
Thanks for your patience. My goal is to have a safe tournament with input from all involved and of course, another incredibly fun tournament.
